Working with the Railway Industry

Grand Central is working closely with its industry partner Network Rail in further developing plans for additional services both in the North East and West Yorkshire, and is fully involved in the development of the East Coast Route Utilisation Study.

The benefits provided by Grand Central’s services are aligned to the published objectives of the Government and many local authorities. Specifically they include:

  • * The delivery of a safe and reliable service of consistent high quality for passengers.
  • * The provision of a value for money service for passengers and taxpayers.
  • * A passion for excellence in service delivery to customers.
  • * Assisting with the North's connectivity as outlined in "The Northern Way"

Additionally these new rail services will help in creating improved journey opportunities both to and from Yorkshire and the North East and London, offering for many, a viable alternative to the car.

Register your support for Bradford Services

The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) led by Chairman Chris Bolt is an independent body set up by Government. Whilst Grand Central continues to work closely with Network Rail on timetable development, the final approval for the commencement of Grand Central services on the Bradford route is dependent on the approval of the ORR.

Many potential passengers and supporters have already registered their support with the ORR, and you can join them.

Those wishing to support our plans should take the time to contact the ORR to share their views by either e-mail (click on the link) or by post.
